Provisional (New) Members

What is a Provisional Member?

"Provisional" is the term for our newest members who are actively learning about the Junior League process, and how we as a group of committed women meet our mission:

MISSION STATEMENT

The Junior League of Indian River, Inc. is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving communities through the effective action of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable. The Junior League of Indian River, Inc. reaches out to women of all races, religions and national origins who demonstrate an interest in and commitment to voluntarism.

Is the Junior League a Social Club?

No..., but as women come together to work in their community, and sit across the table at committee and membership meetings, friendships do develop. Trainings, volunteer opportunities, family picnics and gala parties allow new and long-term residents of Vero Beach to meet other women who share the desire to build a better community.

Who are the members?

Junior League members include realtors, attorneys, physicians, business owners, teachers, AND stay-at-home moms and retirees... ALL are welcome. Worldwide, close to 200,000 women in 4 countries are members, and may affiliate upon relocation with other Leagues.
