What is a Provisional Member?
"Provisional" is the term for our newest members who are actively learning about the Junior League process and how we as a group of committed women meet our mission. Read about our mission and other great information about the League in the About Us page.
If you are 21 years of age or older and either reside or work in Indian River County, then you are eligible to become a Provisional member of The Junior League of Indian River.
The Provisional process involves attending the required Provisional Orientation Classes as well as planning and completing a Provisional Class Community Impact Project. Provisionals are also required to attend at least two General Membership Meetings and participate in at least one Community Impact Project planned by the JLIR active membership before becoming an Active Member. To learn more about JLIR's Community Impact Projects, visit the CIP page.
If you are interested in becoming a Provisional, JLIR has two great opportunities during our League Year to participate in the required Provisional Orientation Class where you learn all about The Junior League's history, structure and Active Membership requirements. Click here to inquire about becoming a member or Contact Us and someone from our Membership Development Committee will contact you. To make a dues payment please visit our E-Store page.
Please visit us at any of our General Membership Meetings to meet our Active Members and gain knowledge and experience with how The Junior League operates.
If you are currently a JLIR Provisional, don't forget to check the Provisionals page in the Members Only Section of this website for up to the minute Provisional announcements.
Mark your calendars! Our Spring Provisional Class is February 18th 2012!
Please inquire directly with the League for more information.
We look forward to meeting you and combining our passion for making a difference in our community.
